Thanks you for a great evening in Islington, we (me and my wife) have been fans since the start of the BS in the late 80's, we came over from the Netherlands to finally see the band live, it was a wonderfull experience.
Oh, btw, the dutch soccer player was Klaas Jan Huntelaar ;-D
Keep on touring and we'll meet again.

My wife and I had a fantastic night at The Factory last night and whilst the venue isn't the best, there was a great atmosphere and the band were absolutely incredible as ever !! After watching the beautiful south live for over 20 years we were delighted when the South formed to continue the lyrical legacy. The songs have been with us through our growing lives and bring so many memories. The new songs are great, especially The Entertainer and we can't wait for the new album to be released. We saw them at Eric's Liverpool in December 2011, they were great there too, but what was even better was that they changed the set for last nights gig to include those gems that are often forgotten in there vast back catalogue like Mothers Pride and Hold On to What. Never stop entertaining us guys. We are still on a high from last night and can't wait for the next tour. Happy Birthday Alison, 21 again with 19 years experience x

what a GREAT night at the 02 Islington, having seen the Housemartis and the Beuatiful South in London on loads of occasions i was worried about the turnout but the crowd were brilliant even getting a mention from Ali.[ who was OUTSTANDING]
was over the moon to hear' Property Quiz' its been one ive wanted to hear live for ages and Dave done it justed.
the whole band were Fantastic....
i took along three friends who only knew thew popular stuff of the B/South but all three were blown away on how good the show was.
i just hope now that you carry on touring because there is no better night out listening to true musicians who want to be on stage for the right reasons and thats 'entertaning their loyal fans'.
WHAT A NIGHT..

Having seen The Beautiful South

Posted by KittyT on March 04, 2012

Having seen The Beautiful South at large and small gigs was unsure how they would sound in such a tiny venue as the Factory, apart from the odd screech on the mics they were awesome! A really good mixture of favourites, more obscure tracks and of course the great new ones, long may The South continue, more gigs please !

had a great evening at the O2 Islington the band were on brilliant form hope to see them in london again soon. was amazed that they choose to do the woman in the wall at the end it is one of my favs but didn't think it was a big enough hit that they would do it live.

the whole set was a great mix of old and new and on the way out just had to buy the EP and was lucky enough to get one of the signed copies.

have had 'the Entertainer' as my ringtone since downloading it in December tihnks it might be time to change it to suck it in now though smiling

islington 2nd MarchWow, what a great night. Got caught out by an early start? Enjoyed a couple of beers round the corner and arrived 8.20 to find I'd missed Mouldy Old Dough and A Little Time was in full flow.(Was that the opening song? Surely not? Anyone know what it was?) Anyway, after that it was just a brilliant night. The band seemed to realy enjoy the audience participation and all around were happy people singing along and boogying.Great interaction bertween Dave(nice hat!) and Alison (birthday girl) with Gaz and Tony enjoying front stage right. Dave drummer was spookily hidden behind a glass type kiosk? Why? Guitarists Phil and Steve just seemed to have fun (great solo on Song for Whoever Phil), Percussion Karl somewhat hidden stage back right but great performance of course. And Damon "The Master" still masterful.Really enjoyed the new songs, especially stick it in and turn it. All the usual classics played with gusto and enjoyed by all.Special mention for Dave on Hold On, nice one! Alison almost outsung by the audience on Rotterdam and Dont Marry Her! Priceless. Encores were You Keep it all in and Good as Gold, brill-i-ant, and final encore the superlative Woman in the Wall.Got the EP and T shirt but mainly happy memories of a fantastic night. Thanks guys, great performance and, yes, its all about the songs,

Having seen The beautiful South

Having seen The beautiful South on more than one occassion, I wasnt really sure what to expect without Paul Heaton. Dave Hemmingway was fantastic and in my opinion Paul Heaton was not missed.
A great selection of old classics were covered, A little time, Old red eyes, You keep it all in, to name a few.
Very intimate gig at the Birmingham 02 academy, some great banter going on with the crowd around Daves hat!
Please please dont leave it too long until the next tour

Thanks for a great night in Birm

Excellent night at Birmingham on Thursday. 4 of us arrived to what was going to be one of the more 'intimate' giigs we've seen. (2 of the party had been following you since Grandmas Milk Biscuits tour !!!). Had a really great evening, singing along, near the front. Banter was greta (Dave ditch the hat smiling ). Well done all, keep up the good work. smiling)

Fantastic night at Birmingham. As as been stated earlier wasnt sure what it would be like without Paul Heaton, but have to say he wasnt missed as Dave was more than able to lead the show. Wont see a better show for rest of year.

Just got home from the Islington

Just got home from the Islington gig. Have always adored The Beautiful South but never saw them live. Was bought the tickets as a present and didn't know what to expect (when part of a band carries on under a new name you tend to fear the worst). But The South were awesome and I'm still buzzing. Time to check out some of your new tracks I think.

Huge fan of The Housemartins and The Beautiful South. Someone bought me the tickets for a Christmas present and I was apprehensive about going to the O2 Birmingham last night - needn't have been. Thoroughly enjoyed the old songs (esp some of the less commercial album tracks) - and the new songs were great. Vocals were excellent. Alison looked overwhelmed when the crowd sang along and Hammy (with and without hat) bantered with us too. Got the impression they were as chuffed with us as we were with them. Thanks for a great night - will definitely be following you.
